These Are The UK’s Best-Selling Vinyl Albums And Singles Of 2020

The Official Charts Company have shared the Top 40 best-selling vinyl albums and singles in the UK of 2020.

Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours came in at No 1, selling 32,500 copies, proof that it remains one of their biggest albums since its release in 1977.

while Oasis’ (What’s The Story) Morning Glory? came in second, while Amy Winehouse’s Back To Black came in third.

Of the albums released in 2020, Kylie Minogue‘s Disco, which has sold 21,500 copies since it came out in November, while Dua Lipa’s smash hit Future Nostalgia placed 35th.

The Official Charts Company also shared the list of the Top 40 vinyl singles sales in the UK, with Liam Gallagher’s All You’re Dreaming Of coming in at No 1, Joy Division‘s Love Will Tear Us Apart at No 2, while The Rolling Stones’ Living In A Ghost Town was third.

Like the albums chart, many of the top singles were reissues by older bands, such as Pink Floyd and Blur. Running away with the most places in the Top 40 singles chart were New Order, who had six singles in the Top 40, including their 2020 single Be A Rebel, and a reissue of their iconic hit, Blue Monday.

The British Phonographic Industry (BPI) revealed that sales of vinyl were high in 2020, despite shops being closed due to the pandemic. 2020 marked the 13th year in a row where sales in vinyl have grown.
