With 2023 having just seen Peter Hook & The Light’s begin their UK headline shows for the year, the band have announced two new concerts performing both the Joy Division and New Order Substance albums marking their thirty-fifth anniversaries in October at KK’s Steel Mill, Wolverhampton on Thursday 12 October and at Liverpool Olympia on Friday 13 October 2023.

With The Light having toured both Substances live previously, this provides a very different show as the band concentrate on the seminal tracks that shaped both bands and a recent Manchester Substance show at The Albert Hall in April 2023 fully sold out.

The widely celebrated show which sees many of Hooky’s bands’ classic tracks back-to-back was last aired by the band in 2019 and the Wolverhampton and Liverpool dates are some of the first new shows to be announced for the set as The Light also play their biggest ever London show Eventim Apollo, Hammersmith, London on the Saturday, 14 October that week.

Last month, it was also revealed that Peter Hook & The Light are among the latest additions to the line-up of the 2023 Isle Of Wight festival, due to take place at Seaclose Park, Newport between 15-18 June.

This year’s headliners are Pulp, George Ezra, The Chemical Brothers, and Robbie Williams. Sheffield rockers Pulp will return to Seaclose Park for the first time in 12 years to headline the main stage on the Friday night. Singer-songwriter Ezra co-headlines on Saturday night with The Chemical Brothers. In addition, former Take That star Robbie Williams will play a UK festival exclusive, closing out the festival on the Sunday night.

Peter Hook & The Light play the following UK shows:

15 April: Sheffield, Foundry, Sheffield
20 April: Cambridge, Cambridge Junction
21 April: Leamington Spa, Leamington Spa Assembly
22 April: Cardiff, Tramshed
28 April: Reading, Sub89
12 October: Wolverhampton, KK’s Steel Mill
13 October: Liverpool, Olympia
14 October: London, Eventim Apollo
