The 2023 ceremony will take place at London’s Grosvenor House on 18 May, with Harry Styles leading the nominees with three nods.

Harry and his collaborator Kid Harpoon were each nominated for three awards at the upcoming ceremony, as were singer-songwriter Cleopatra Nikolic, aka Cleo Sol, and music producer Dean ‘Inflo’ Josiah Cover. The singer and his co-writer were each nominated for Songwriter of the Year. As It Was was also nominated for Best Song Musically and Lyrically and PRS for Music Most Performed Work.

Styles is also indirectly associated with a fourth nomination as his film Don’t Worry Darling received a nod for Best Original Film Score. Inflo and Cleopatra worked together on Little Simz’s album No Thank You, which was nominated for Best Album – as well as SAULT’s nominated album 11 and hit track Stronger.

Running Up That Hill by Kate Bush, which experienced a resurgence last year thanks to Stranger Things, was nominated for PRS for Music Most Performed Work almost 38 years after its original release. Ed Sheeran’s Bad Habits is also among the nominees in this category.

After exploding on TikTok, Running Up That Hill went to number one in the UK charts, and gave Bush her first top 10 hit in the US. The song was previously nominated for best contemporary song at the 1986 Ivor Novello Awards, but lost out to Tina Turner’s We Don’t Need Another Hero.

Bush has previously won two Ivor Novellos: Best lyric for The Man With The Child In His Eyes in 1979 and best song for Don’t Give Up, a duet with Peter Gabriel, in 1987.

Pop star Raye gets her first Ivor Novello nomination for Escapism, the hit single that marked a new phase in her solo career after years of being straightjacketed by her record label. The track, which depicts a drug-fuelled night out, is up for best contemporary song alongside Stormzy’s Hide & Seek and Kojey Radical’s Payback.
