Green Day have announced details of a surprise, intimate London gig. The renowned pop-punk trio – comprised of Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tré Cool – will play London’s Electric Ballroom on 10 November.

To attend the show, fans need to request tickets before 10am on 6 November. A two-ticket limit will be imposed on all fans.

The band will also perform a similarly intimate gig at the Maggazini Generali in Milan on November 7 via their social media outlets.

Last month, Green Day also caught fans off guard by announcing a surprise show in Paris on October 4. That gig was held at the Bataclan Theatre.

The news of the Electric Ballroom show comes after Green Day announced their new album Saviors, which is out 19 January via Reprise and Warner. The follow-up to 2020’s Father of All… opens with the new song The American Dream Is Killing Me. Watch the zombie-themed music video for the track below.

Recorded in London and Los Angeles, Saviors is the latest collaboration between Green Day and Grammy-winning producer Rob Cavallo, whose notable previous work with Green Day includes two of the band’s most beloved albums, 1994’s Dookie and 2004’s American Idiot.

The American Dream Is Killing Me was one of the last tracks written and recorded for Saviors. “As soon we cut it, we said, Okay, that’s going first,’” says singer Billie Joe Armstrong, who describes the new song as “a look at the way the traditional American Dream doesn’t work for a lot of people – in fact, it’s hurting a lot of people.”

The release of Saviors comes just ahead of the 30th anniversary of Dookie and celebrations have already begun with the release of a massive deluxe edition of the album which includes previously unreleased Dookie demos – 4-Track Demos and Cassette Demos – and Outtakes as well as two seminal live recordings, Live At Woodstock (1994) and the previously unreleased Live In Barcelona (June 5 ’94).

Pre-order Saviors here.
