David Byrne And Paramore Collaboration On The Way?
David Byrne has worked with Paramore on a new track, according to singer Hayley Williams.
The news was leaked at a special launch event for Paramore’s new remix album, RE: This Is Why. The band were in conversation with writer Amanda Petrusich for The New Yorker Festival, and they talked about a yet-to-be-released David Byrne track that was originally intended for the remix album. When talking about the album, Petrusich mentioned that Byrne was involved, though he doesn’t appear on the edition that’s already out.

“There was someone that [Amanda Petrusich] mentioned who was going to be on this record but we’re saving it for something,” Hayley Williams said, continuing: “So, all I’m going to say is it’s fucking insane. It’s incredible. It’s unreal. And hopefully, it won’t be too long before we get to share it. But we decided it was too special and we needed to wait and there’s more to that story and you’ll know all about it as soon as we’re able to share.”
Paramore have just released Re: This Is Why, a remixed and reworked version of their latest album.
The band described the project as “almost a remix album” in a statement on social media, saying, “We’ve long wanted to recognize the connection we have with some of the artists who’ve influenced us as a band and/or who have cited our band as an influence. Some of the songs have been remixed sort of classically, while others were reworked or rewritten. It’s incredible to hear all our worlds colliding.”
