Robert Plant And Alison Krauss Announce 2022 Tour
Robert Plant and Alison Krauss have announced their first tour together in a decade, starting Summer 2022. The news comes following the release of the pair’s new album, Raise The Roof, which came out on Friday (19 November 19), 14 years after their first collaborative release, the enormously successful Raising Sand.
In an interview with The Independent yesterday (20 November), Plant reflected on the partnership, “With Alison and I, we’re leagues apart in so many elements, and then when you realise it, that’s part of the magic of the whole thing. It comes from our continued surprise at how we can twist songs round and round. It’s never really appropriate for the limitations of my voice, some of the country stuff that we have touched on, but when we get it right, and the right key to sing in for the both of us… it’s just so surprising. When we sing we just look at each other and laugh.”
Krauss went on to speculate about a third album from the duo and to comment on the forthcoming tour: “ It has to be the right songs, so that’s what you wait for. If you get the right song… But I know everybody’s excited to get out and play, I’m excited and really proud of this record, I think we have something that’s really beautiful and representative of us at that time.”
