RAYE promised fans that her follow-up to her hugely successful debut, 21st Century Blues, will be “unexpected” during her performance at Coachella 2024.

She told the crowd, “This next piece of music I’m going to put out, I’m so proud of it and I just need you to know. I can’t wait for you to hear it, it’s not what you expected.”

The performance came weeks after it was revealed that the singer co-wrote Riverdance, from the new Beyoncé album, Cowboy Carter. Taking to her Instagram on the day of the album’s release, RAYE wrote, “happy COWBOY CARTER day. What an honour it is to being able to contribute my small piece to this beautiful album, and to THE @beyonce who continues to inspire all of us. Track 23 : RIVERDANCE , co – written by me found my beat up cowboy hat i bought on my 21st birthday for this special occasion.”

She was also recently a musical guest on Saturday Night Live, where she performed versions of Worth It and Escapism, watch below.

Earlier this year, RAYE made history by taking home six Brit Awards, the most ever awarded to one artist in a single year. The wins included best new artist, best R&B act, songwriter of the year, song of the year, artist of the year, and album of the year.

RAYE sobbed at the ceremony as she won the album of the year award, saying, “You just don’t understand what this means to me. … I’m ugly-crying on national television. All I ever wanted to be was an artist. And now I’m an artist with an album of the year.”
