Pet Shop Boys Announced As Radio 2 Festival Headliners
Pet Shop Boys and Sting have been announced as the headliners of BBC Radio 2 in the Park in Preston this September.

The festival will also feature performances from Manic Street Preachers, Sugababes, Craig David, Snow Patrol, Travis and Sister Sledge.
The event takes place in Preston’s Moor Park from 6-8 September, with tickets on sale from 08:15 on Tuesday, 4 June.
It is Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe’s second time headlining the festival – having first topped the bill in Hyde Park in London five years ago.
“That was a great night,” Tennant told Radio 2 breakfast show host Zoe Ball. “I think it’s good, though, that we’re going up north.”
The band will perform the greatest hits set from their ongoing Dreamworld tour, which includes singles like Suburbia, Rent, Left To My Own Devices and It’s A Sin.
“There’s a possibility we might have a special guest,” said Tennant, but “they haven’t agreed to it yet”.
The band recently released new album Nonetheless. It’s the duo’s first album since 2020’s Hotspot. It sees them work with James Ford on production for the first time.
“We wanted this album to be a celebration of the unique and diverse emotions that make us human,” Pet Shop Boys said in a statement. “From the more dance-orientated tracks to the raw poignancy of the introspective ballads, with their beautiful string arrangements, each track tells a story and contributes to the overall narrative of the album.”
They added: “We’re very excited to release this new album. Its 10 tracks are the strongest indicators of where we are today. Like much of our music it’s very reflective. It was great to work with James Ford, who we think has brought new elements to our music.
