Nile Rodgers & CHIC are the latest act to play NPR’s Tiny Desk concert series, watch below.

Rodgers led his band through an intimate, but still electrifying, performance spanning his groundbreaking body of work as an artist, bandleader, songwriter, and producer, highlighted by such truly timeless classics as Le Freak, I’m Coming Out, We Are Family, Get Lucky, Good Times, and a very special encore of David Bowie’s Rodgers-produced hit Let’s Dance.

Nile Rodgers said, “Tiny Desk was a musical challenge for us that I will never forget! We had a ball squeezing the entire CHIC Funk, Disco, R&B, Soul sound onto that tiny desk and figuring how to get more out of it. I think we did it but we’ll let you be the judge of that, let us know what you think!”

Recently ranked at No 7 on Rolling Stone’s The 250 Greatest Guitarists of All Time list, Rodgers is currently leading CHIC on a wide-ranging series of international live dates, including shows this weekend at Fremantle, Australia’s Fremantle Prison (27 October) and Adelaide, Australia’s Harvest Rock II (28 October).

The SRO tour – which saw Rodgers & CHIC traveling all summer long both as a worldwide headline act, top-billed festival favourite, and show-stealing special guest on Duran Duran’s blockbuster The Future Past North American Tour – will make further stops throughout 2023 and into next year. The first – and only – Producer In Residence at Apple Music, Rodgers helms the award-winning Apple Music 1’s Deep Hidden Meaning radio show celebrating the work of great songwriters. In 2023, Rodgers became the first creator to receive a Recording Academy® Lifetime Achievement Award honoring his extraordinary legacy in the same year as being awarded a “Best R&B Song” GRAMMY® for his new work with Beyoncé on the smash hit, Cuff It.
