New Order, Echo & The Bunnymen Confirmed For 2023 Darker Waves Festival

New Order, Echo & The Bunnymen, Tears For Fears and Devo are among the big names set to play at the inaugural Darker Waves Festival in Huntingdon Beach, California, on 18 November.

Taking place at the Huntington Beach City Beach at Huntington Street and Pacific Coast Highway, the festival will debut with legendary new wave performances from over 30 bands across three stages, also including The B-52’s, Soft Cell, Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark, The Psychedelic Furs, The Cardigans, X, Violent Femmes, Molchat Doma, The English Beat, She Wants Revenge, and more.

Fans can sign up now for the festival SMS list via the official Darker Waves Festival website to receive an access code for the presale that will begin Friday, June 23 at 10 AM PT. Any remaining tickets following the presale will go on sale to the general public on Friday, June 23 at 2 PM PT. GA, GA+, VIP, and Ultimate VIP Tickets will be available, with layaway payment plans starting at $19.99 down. Visit the event’s official website for further information.

Prior to playing at Darker Waves, New Order will be embarking on a UK and European tour which they announced in April, with Confidence Man in support. You can check out all the dates below.

Earlier this year, New Order scored the best-selling vinyl single of 2023 so far, according to the Official Charts Company.

The electronic pioneers’ biggest single of the year is The Perfect Kiss, a single originally released in 1985, pressed on a special edition 12″ vinyl to celebrate the Definitive Edition re-issue of its parent album, Low-Life.

They also score three further Top 10 placings: 1983 single Blue Monday, which celebrated its 40th anniversary this year (3), plus Sub-Culture (5) and Shell Shock (6), which are both also lifted from the Low Life reissue.
