Megan Thee Stallion’s latest single Hiss has debuted at No 1 on the Billboard Global 200 chart. She has become the first female rapper in a lead role to enter the chart at the top spot.

Hiss notched up 39.6 million streams and 99,000 worldwide in the week from 26 January to 1 February. In addition to the original version’s clean and explicit options released on 26 January, an instrumental version and clean and explicit “chopped ‘n screwed” versions arrived 31 January.

It’s Megan Thee Stallion’s second No 1 on the chart, after Cardi B’s WAP, on which she’s featured, led for three weeks in September-October 2020. Hiss has also reached the US Billboard No 1 spot in its first week, the rapper’s third song to hit the top spot in the US after 2020’s Savage and WAP.

Hiss is written by Thee Stallion with long-time co-writers Joel Banks and Shawn ‘Source’ Jarrett, who produced the song with LilJuMadeDaBeat, Bankroll Got It and Derrick Milano.

Jack Harlow’s Lovin in Me remains at No 2 on the Global 200, after two weeks at No 1 in January; Tate McRae’s Greedy is a non-mover at No 3, after two weeks at No 1 beginning in November; Xavi’s La Diabla stays at No 4; and Ariana Grande’s Yes, And? falls to No 5 after spending its first two weeks on the chart at No 1.

Last week, Megan confirmed during an appearance on Good Morning America that she’ll be touring in the summer. “Oh, we’re having the tour this year,” she said. “The Hot Girl Summer tour is going to be 2024, summertime.

“I feel like I’ve never been able to be outside doing my own thing during the summer, since like 2019,” she explained. “So this is going to be the first time that I drop an album on time for the summer. I do want to give the hotties (her fans) the Megan Thee Stallion experience.”
