Later in the day, Royal Blood rocked the Pyramid Stage with a set to a packed crowd. Singer Mike Kerr was appreciative of the audience reaction, saying, “Thank you so much Glastonbury, I have to tell you never in our wildest dreams did we ever think we’d get to do shit like this.

“My mind has been melting for the past 53 minutes or however long we’ve been playing for – this is truly f****** wild, thank you so much.”

And one of the most hotly anticipated sets of the weekend so far came from some suprise guests. The identity of The Churn-Ups has been a hotly debated subject since the release of the line-up and a massive Pyramid Stage crows was ecstatic when the guests were revealed to be Foo Fighters.

“Well it’s nice to be here for 58 mins and 30 seconds,” singer Dave Grohl said, as the band prepared for Everlong.

“We usually play this one as our way to say goodbye because we never like to say goodbye. I figure that if you guys come back we’ll come back soon.”

He added: “I would like to dedicate this song to Mr Taylor Hawkins. So let’s sing this one loud, we’re missing Taylor.”
