Madonna was a guest on last night’s episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. After being interviewed by Jimmy Fallon, the pop icon joined the host and The Roots to play her 2000 single Music using classroom instruments. Watch below.

When asked by Fallon if there is an artist she has yet to work with who she admires, Madonna was unequivocal, “There’s one artist that I worship more than anything in life and I would love to collaborate with him, and that’s Kendrick Lamar. His new record is history-making. Mind-bogglingly brilliant. It’s insane. So talented.”

Madonna also revealed her manager told her career was over in the 80s after she accidently flashed at the VMAs. She performed her hit Like A Virgin at the very first MTV Video Music Awards in 1984 when her dress “flipped up”. She told Fallon, “I did that show and I walked down the very steep stairs of the wedding cake and I got to the bottom and I started dancing around and my white stiletto pumps fell off.

“And I was trying to do this smooth move like, dive for the shoe and look like it was choreography. And my dress flipped up and my butt was showing. Can you imagine? Those were the days when you shouldn’t show your butt to have a career. Now it’s the opposite.”

Earlier this week, Madonna held a roller disco in New York City to celebrate of the album, reuniting with Nile Rodgers to discuss creating Like A Virgin together. The Roots’ Questlove also served as a DJ at the event, playing Madonna hits alongside other disco classics.

Meanwhile, Madonna recently featured on a remix of Beyonce’s Renaissance single Break My Soul. The Queens Remix features a melody from Madonna’s 1990 song Vogue. Beyoncé later sent Madonna a thank-you note, writing: “I’m so grateful for you. You have opened so many doors for so many women. You are a masterpiece genius.”
