Later… With Jools Holland will return to BBC Two this Saturday (14 May), with all the musical guests in the same room for the first time since the start of the global pandemic. Liam Gallagher and Wet Leg are among the first confirmed acts.

The host of the long-running music TV (this will be the 60th series) announced its return on his official Instagram page, ““I’m very excited that my tv show returns on BBC Two on Saturday nights from the 14th of May,” he wrote.

“The first time all the musical guests are in the same room as one another since lockdown. Wooooohoooo. I will reveal more about lineup and new location soon. Until then, to give you a smell of it, here’s the full opening titles filmed in my layout.”

The BBC have revealed that the first episode will feature Isle of Wight duo Wet Leg, US singer and blues guitarist Joe Bonamassa, Nigerian-born, London-based artist Obongjayar and BRIT School alumni and south Londoner Cat Burns to the show.

Episode two will star Liam Gallagher, Oumou Sangaré, Charlotte Adigéry & Bolis Pupul and Irish musician Sinead O’Brien and will air Saturday 21 May.

Liam Gallagher is also in the news for his preparations for his upcoming gigs at Knebworth, where he is due to perform for 160, 000. Liam told The Sun, “I’ve got a month to prepare for Knebworth so I’m going to stay out of trouble, stay in the house, chill out, eat well, do some exercise and not drink alcohol or do any of that nonsense.

“As you get older you’ve got to prepare right for these gigs.

“You can’t be going there like you’re 20 otherwise it’ll sound s**t and people pay a lot of money, so I’ve got to prepare right.”

The Knebworth gigs are the biggest of Liam’s solo career and will take place on Friday 3rd and Saturday 4th June 2022.
