Kylie Minogue To Be Honoured As Global Icon At 2024 BRIT Awards
The BRIT Awards 2024 with Mastercard have announced that international superstar Kylie Minogue is to be presented with the BRITs Global Icon award at this year’s ceremony on Saturday 2 March – and she will also perform. Additionally, she is nominated for International Artist of the Year at the ceremony.
Kylie said: “I am beyond thrilled to be honoured with the Global Icon Award and to be joining a roll call of such incredible artists. The UK has always been a home from home so the BRITs have a very special place in my heart. I have some amazing memories from the awards over the years and I can’t wait to be back on the BRITs stage. See you at the O2!”
The BRITs take place Saturday 2 March live from The O2 arena, broadcast exclusively on ITV1, STV, ITVX and STV Player, and hosted by Clara Amfo, Maya Jama and Roman Kemp. Also confirmed to perform so far are Dua Lipa and RAYE.
Previous winners of the BRITs Global Icon award include Taylor Swift, David Bowie and Elton John.
Upon the reveal of this year’s nominations, RAYE made history as the most nominated artist in a single year in the awards’ history.
The singer, who released her acclaimed album My 21st Century Blues last year, scored nods for Best British Album, Song Of The Year (twice), British artist of the year, Best Pop Act, Best R&B act and Best New Artist.
Also in March, Kylie Minogue, NewJeans, Maren Morris, Ice Spice, Charli XCX, and more will all be honoured at the 2024 Billboard Women in Music Awards.
The ceremony honouring female talent returns on 6 March, hosted by Tracee Ellis Ross, and will see stars across multiple genres of pop music recognised. Young Miko, Victoria Monét, TEMS and Luísa Sonza are also up for prizes. The event takes place at the Los Angeles’ YouTube Theater.
