Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift’s new collaborative single, The Joker, is out now, and you can watch the song’s official video below.

The release is a revamped version of Sheeran’s song The Joker and the Queen, which featured on his October 2021 album, =. This marks the first collaboration from the pair since Run, a track from Swift’s chart-topping re-release of Red (Taylor’s Version), released in November of last year.

“‘The Joker and The Queen’ featuring my good friend Taylor Swift is out this Friday,” the singer posted on Twitter on Thursday morning – a post which has since amassed over 45,000 likes from the duo’s extensive fanbase.

Sheeran had teased the news late last year, telling Capital FM that the reworked track would feature an American artist. Due to their past works, such as Swift’s Red track, Everything has Changed, and the folklore singer selling playing cards on her online store, fans had envisaged the collaboration.

The announcement comes after Sheeran performed The Joker at the BRIT awards on Tuesday night, February 8, following his acceptance of the Songwriter of the Year award.

Last year, Sheeran revealed that he once took Swift to his local pub, The Station in Framlingham, Suffolk, for a drink but “no one really clocked who it was.”

Sheeran took home the BRIT Award for Songwriter of the Year last night, and was presented with the award by Succession actor Brian Cox.

The singer collaborated on-stage with Bring Me The Horizon during the ceremony, with the two acts reworking Sheeran’s recent hit, Bad Habits.

The awards ceremony also saw Wolf Alice and Sam Fender earning their first BRIT Awards, while Little Simz won Best New Artist. Dave later closed the show by performing a guitar solo on a guitar/flamethrower during a performance of In The Fire.
