The superstar sat in on music lessons before performing a short set for school’s pupils and teachers. He also donated guitars to encourage future generations of musicians at the school.

Create Music is part of Brighton Dome & Brighton Festival and provides inclusive music education and performance opportunities for children, young people and adults across Brighton & Hove and beyond. Encouraging a passion for music supports our vision for a future where lives are forever transformed by the power of music.

A spokesman for Create Music said: “Encouraging a passion for music supports our vision for a future where lives are forever transformed by the power of music – no one understands that better than Ed Sheeran.”

The visit follows an impromptu gig by Sheeran for Ipswich Town players in their dressing room following his hometown team’s promotion to the Premier League.

Meanwhile, Sheeran spoke to PEOPLE at the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation Gala at Dodgers Stadium on 2 May, where he won’t be releasing new music in 2024. When asked what he could reveal about his new material, Sheeran was coy, saying, “That I’m working on them and they’re new songs. But nothing’s going to come out this year. I’m enjoying being on tour. I released two records on tour last year and it’s quite a lot being on tour and releasing records. So, I’ve made the new music and I’m just going to sit on it for a bit.”

When asked if his daughters were fans, Sheeran replied, “Yeah, of course, of course. Mostly my new songs because I don’t really play my old songs in the house.”
