Dua Lipa Announces CD Single Release Of ‘Dance The Night’
Dance The Night has been steadily rising up the charts since the phenomenal success of Barbie The Movie. Barbie hit the billion dollar box office milestone after just 17 days of release, becoming the fastest Warner Bros release (and eighth in the studio’s 100-year history) to join the $1 billion club. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 previously held that record at 19 days.
Producer Mark Ronson recently discussed the making of Dance The Night in an interview with Vulture, “Coming up with the instrumental that became Dance The Night, I felt pretty free to create. I wasn’t thinking, This has got to be the summer smash. It was like, I’m really inspired by this film. I wanted to give them something that’s got disco, but has an unexpected slightly harder edge to it.
Meanwhile, Dua Lipa recently hinted at the sound of her upcoming third album in an interview with The New York Times Style Magazine.
The singer said that the process of making her third album, due in 2024, has been “insular and exciting” and suggested that the album will be influenced by 70s psychedelia, she also suggested that Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker may be on board. “You have no idea what the reaction is going to be once it’s out, so there’s this nervous feeling,” she added.
Dua also said that this next project will be “more personal”, though she is keen not to bare her soul. “I think it’s a marketing tool: How confessional can you be?” she added. “I also don’t put so much of my life out there for people to dig into the music in this weird, analytical way.”
