Coldplay Confirmed As Headliners For BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend 2024

Coldplay are confirmed as the final headliners confirmed for BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend.

Chris Martin and company are set to top the bill on Sunday, 26 May, at the radio station’s three-day festival, which takes place at Stockwood Park in Luton, Bedfordshire this year.

Coldplay said: “We wouldn’t be anywhere without Radio 1 and we’re super excited to come to Luton this year and play Big Weekend.”

Declan McKenna, Olly Alexander, Sabrina Carpenter, Vampire Weekend will also play the main stage.

Also lined up for the event are beabadoobee, CMAT, Everything Everything, and Teddy Swims, who will perform on the New Music Stage. RAYE, meanwhile, is set to headline on Saturday, 25 May.

Other main stage performers that day include Aitch, Griff, Joel Corry, Mabel and Rag’n’Bone Man. Charli XCX will headline the New Music Stage, which will also see performances from The Last Dinner Party, Shygirl and Tems.

Drum and bass legends Chase and Status are headlining the night before, and will be joined by the likes of Becky Hill, Ella Henderson and Rudimental. According to advance PR, another big artist will also be confirmed in the coming weeks. Tickets for the Big Weekend sale today via Ticketmaster. Last week, it was announced that Coldplay, Dua Lipa and SZA will headline Glastonbury 2024. In addition, Shania Twain will play the legends slot.

A post on the festival’s official website said: “Dua Lipa makes her Pyramid Stage debut as our Friday night headliner, on a Friday bill also featuring Glastonbury veterans LCD Soundsystem and PJ Harvey.

“Coldplay will make their first Pyramid Stage appearance since 2016 on the Saturday night, with the only European festival appearance of their record-breaking current world tour, in the process beating their previous joint headliner record (with The Cure) and becoming the first act to headline Glastonbury five times. Little Simz comes back to Glastonbury to play her biggest slot yet immediately before Coldplay.”
