Coldplay, Roger Waters Named Among 2022’s Top Global Concert Touring Artists

Trade publication Pollstar have published their annual report naming the year’s Top 20 Global Concert Tours, with the likes of Coldplay, Roger Waters, Dua Lipa, Lizzo and Iron Maiden all featuring in the Top 20 for 2022.

The Top 20 Global Concert Tours ranks artists by average box office gross per city and includes the average ticket price for shows Worldwide. The list is based on data provided to Pollstar by concert promoters and venue managers. For the Week of 1/9/2023 – Coldplay Roses appear at No. 2; Pink Floyd legend Roger Waters hits at No. 10, with Dua Lipa at No. 11, Lizzo at No. 12 and Iron Maiden just making the cut at No. 20.

Also in Iron Maiden-related news, the legendary metal band have been honoured by the Royal Mail with a set of 12 stamps celebrating their contribution to heavy metal. The stamps are available to order from January 5 and are on sale from January 12.

Twelve stamps will pay tribute to the “bona fide rock legends” – making Iron Maiden the fifth music group to feature in a dedicated stamp issue, following The Beatles in 2007, Pink Floyd in 2016, Queen in 2020, and the Rolling Stones in 2022.

Eight stamps feature performances by Iron Maiden and all the current members of the band. The guitarists Dave Murray, Adrian Smith and Janick Gers, the lead singer Bruce Dickinson, the drummer Nicko McBrain and the bassist Steve Harris all appear in the commemorative project.
