Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion have released a music video for their new joint single Bongos, the follow-up to their massive 2020 collaboration WAP. Watch below.

The song is Megan’s first release since her 2022 album Traumazine, which debuted at No 4 on the US Billboard 200 and boasted radio hits Sweetest Pie with Dua Lipa and Pressurelicious featuring Future.

During an interview with DJ Whoo Kid, Cardi discussed the song’s differences to WAP, saying, “It’s a different theme and the video is like a whole complete different type of theme”. Cardi also spoke about the video, calling it “intricate… beautiful”.

“We put in our sweat and everything,” she added of her collaboration with Megan. “It’s like on some ‘b—h, you jump, I jump… if you wit it, I I wit it. We’re gonna do it.’ We worked so hard on the music video. You’re gonna see… that’s thought put into that… “It feels good [to get back into the game]… it makes me feel good that she trusts me. I’mma give my all. Not only am I doing this for myself, [but] ‘I want you to trust me.’ We trust each other.”

Cardi also teased fans by saying the rainbow-colored hair and barley-there outfits they wore in the cover art for the single were intentionally picked to throw people off… “because the [single] cover [art] gives off like a ‘WAP’ vibe, but it’s not,” she explained.

Cardi also spoke of her love for Eminem, “I love him, Not even on some music s–t. I just really want to tell him, like, ‘I love you.. you’re amazing, like you’re so sickening.’”

In a recent interview with Vogue Mexico, Cardi teased, “I’m not going to release any more collaborations. I’m going to put out my next solo single. Right now, I’m working on the cover art and ideas for the next record because it’s definitely coming up.”
