When We Were Young festival has released its official line-up, with Paramore and My Chemical Romance to headline a packed bill of alternative artists in Las Vegas, Nevada on 22 October 2022.

When We Were Young will mark the first Paramore show since the band went on a hiatus in 2018. Lead singer Hayley Williams has been busy in the interim, releaing a full-length debut solo album, Petals for Armor, followed swiftly by Flowers for Vases/Descansos in February 2021.

After their own seven-year break, My Chemical Romance returned to the stage in late 2019 at the Shrine Expo Hall in Los Angeles for a highly anticipated reunion show. The group is also set to head out on a 2022 tour, after having to cancel their 2020 stint as the coronavirus pandemic hit.

Other bands on the bill read like a who’s who of the emo, pop-punk and alternative scenes, including Bright Eyes, AFI, the Used, Bring Me The Horizon, Boys Like Girls, Avril Lavigne, Taking Back Sunday, Dashboard Confessional, We the Kings, Alkaline Trio, Manchester Orchestra, Dance Gavin Dance, the All-American Rejects, Anberlin, 3OH!3, Atreyu, the Ready Set, Jimmy Eat World, La Dispute, the Wonder Years, Hawthorne Heights, Car Seat Headrest, Wolf Alice and many more.

Fans can sign up for the ticket pre-sale, which starts on Friday 21 January, here.

Last November, Hayley Williams first teased Paramore’s 2022 return in a newsletter.

“Before I go, thank y’all so much for the incredible support these last couple years. I know we didn’t get to properly come together to sing and vent and sweat it all out…but I do think that Petals and descansos lived exactly the lives they were meant to. Besides, Paramore can’t be ‘on a break’ forever now can we?” she wrote.

Williams rounded off the newsletter with; “I love y’all. See you sometime next year?”
