Having previously performed an acclaimed sold-out headline show at London’s Roundhouse last December, Sister Sledge have now announced they will be heading back to the UK capital for an exclusive summer show. The one-night-only event will see the family band headline the iconic Royal Albert Hall on 8 June.

During the show, Sister Sledge will perform their evergreen greatest hits including Lost In Music, Thinking Of You, We Are Family and many more, with the much-lauded American vocal group sure to transform the Royal Albert Hall into a true 70’s celebration.

Sister Sledge achieved worldwide success with their breakthrough hit, He’s The Greatest Dancer, from their hit 1979 album We Are Family. The record’s anthemic title track, however, proved even more successful and became a worldwide smash charting at number two pop and number one R&B. The song and group were nominated for a Grammy Award and We Are Family was adopted as the official anthem for the Pittsburgh Pirates, who went on to win the World Series that year. Sister Sledge was duly invited to perform the national anthem at the opening game in front of 45,000 fans.

Since that time, the Pennsylvanian act have amassed a string of Gold and Platinum records and accumulated total sales of over 15million worldwide. Their albums, several of which were produced by the renowned Nile Rodgers of CHIC, have received global recognition.

At the Royal Albert Hall, Sister Sledge will be joined by enduring 70s soul-pop stars The Real Thing, who are sure to perform their No.1 Hit You To Me Are Everything along with other renowned hits from their catalogue such as Can’t Get By Without You and Can You Feel The Force, ensuring audiences can expect an unforgettable evening at the world famous Royal Albert Hall. The line-up for the show is completed by Dimitri from Paris and Twiggy Garcia.
