The PJ Harvey reissue series continues with the 25 June release of her seventh album, White Chalk, on vinyl. It will be complemented by a collection of unreleased demos she made for the album, released the same day on vinyl, CD and digital.

The release marks the first time that White Chalk has been available on vinyl since its 2007 release. Produced by Flood and John Parish and featuring collaborators Jim White and Eric Drew Feldman, White Chalk charted No 11 in the UK and received extensive critical acclaim upon its release. The album marked an about turn for PJ Harvey, with the usual gritty guitars eschewed in favour of a set of raw and haunting songs composed on piano. The reissue was cut by Jason Mitchell at Loud Mastering under the guidance of John Parish.

White Chalk – Demos presents early versions of each of the 11 tracks on the album, listen to the demo of When Under Ether here. The demo collection features brand new artwork, featuring photographs of PJ Harvey taken from the White Chalk cover shoot by Maria Mochnacz.

The releases are the latest in the ongoing and comprehensive reissue campaign covering PJ Harvey’s entire back catalogue, including her two collaboration albums with John Parish. The latest in the series, a reissue of Uh Huh Her (2004), along with a collection of demos for the album, was released on 30 April.
