Pet Shop Boys To Headline Edinburgh New Year’s Eve Gig

Pet Shop Boys have been announced as the headliners of Edinburgh’s Hogmanay Concert In The Gardens on New Year’s Eve.

Tickets for the show go on general sale at 10am BST this Friday (28 October) – tickets will be available here. Fans can access a pre-sale at 10am on Thursday (27 October) by subscribing to the Hogmanay newsletter here.

A statement on the Hogmany site says, “We are very pleased to announce the return of pop-legends Pet Shop Boys to headline the Edinburgh’s Hogmanay Concert in the Gardens.

“One of the UK’s most successful and beloved pop bands, with 22 Top Ten hits and 4 No 1’s Pet Shop Boys are guaranteed to once again make Edinburgh THE biggest New Year party on the planet! With a career spanning Greatest Hits show, this promises to be one of the greatest Edinburgh’s Hogmanay events EVER!”

Pet Shop Boys, who played the New Year’s Eve concert in 2013, said in a statement: “2022 has been an incredible year, when we have loved being able to perform again after the restrictions arising from the pandemic.

“We can’t think of a better way to round off this year than by celebrating the start of 2023 in Edinburgh.”

Edinburgh’s NYE Hogmanay festival is returning this year following the cancellation of both its 2020 and 2021 editions due to the COVID pandemic. The New Year celebrations will also include fireworks at midnight against the backdrop of Edinburgh Castle as well as some “special guest DJs” Overall, there’s three days of free and ticketed events scheduled from Friday 30 December to Sunday 1 January.

Pet Shop Boys recently finished their joint North American ‘Unity Tour’ with New Order. Back in June, Tennant and Lowe played a headline set on the Other Stage at Glastonbury 2022. the pair of pop greats are also set to embark on a series of UK tour dates next summer.
