Pet Shop Boys Announce ‘Dancing Star’ CD Single
Pet Shop Boys have announced a CD single release of their next single, Dancing Star.
The second single to be taken from their forthcoming album Nonetheless will be available on 3 May 2024 via Parlophone and will feature six tracks: two previously unreleased non-album tracks and three remixes, one of Party in the Blitz (a Loneliness bonus track) and two of Dancing Star.

The song was inspired by the life of the ballet dancer, Rudolf Nureyev, who defected from the Soviet Union and became a global star.
Dancing Star has also been remixed by Solomun and the single bundle also includes two bonus tracks, written and produced by PSB: Sense Of Time and If Jesus Had A Sister”. A Superchumbo (Tom Stephan) remix of Party In The Blitz is also included and features the voice of London clubland legend, Princess Julia.
The Pet Shop Boys’ eagerly awaited new studio album Nonetheless will be released on 26 April. The album features 10 new songs and was produced by James Ford.
“We wanted this album to be a celebration of the unique and diverse emotions that make us human,” Pet Shop Boys said in a statement. “From the more dance-orientated tracks to the raw poignancy of the introspective ballads, with their beautiful string arrangements, each track tells a story and contributes to the overall narrative of the album.”
They added: “We’re very excited to release this new album. Its 10 tracks are the strongest indicators of where we are today. Like much of our music it’s very reflective. It was great to work with James Ford, who we think has brought new elements to our music.”
