Noel Gallagher And Foo Fighters In Battle For UK No 1
Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds and Foo Fighters are currently battling it out to see which of them bags the UK No 1 Album in the Official Albums Chart.
In the midweek charts fewer than 200 chart units currently separate Noel’s Council Skies (currently at No 1) and the Foo Fighters’ But Here We Are.

If Council Skies follows them to the top spot, Noel Gallagher will extend his record of consecutive Number 1s with studio albums to 11. All seven Oasis studio albums reached the top spot, beginning with the band’s hugely influential 1994 debut Definitely Maybe and ending with their 2008 swansong Dig Out Your Soul. And since going solo under the Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds moniker, he has scored another four Number 1 albums – with the studio albums Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds (2011), Chasing Yesterday (2015) and Who Built the Moon? (2017), plus the compilation album Back the Way We Came: Vol. 1 (2021).
Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds are currently on a co-headlining tour of the US with Garbage but will return to the UK in July to play an array of UK outdoor shows and headline festival performances, including a massive homecoming gig at Manchester’s Wythenshawe Park on August Bank Holiday weekend. This is followed by a full UK arena tour throughout December 2023. Tickets are on sale here.
