Megan Thee Stallion has shared an official music video for her latest single Plan B, which was released in April. The video was directed by John Miserendino and Mugler’s creative director Casey Cadwallader. It’s the follow up to her Dua Lipa-featuring hit, Sweetest Pie.

The rapper introduced her diss-heavy track, “Plan B,” during Weekend One of her Coachella debut, and she officially released the track a week later. Megan said the song was personal to her and dedicated it “to whom the f— it may concern.” The final line — “you’s a bi—” — was broadcast across the festival’s big screens, while she also repeated the Twitter-favourite lyric “di– don’t run me, I run di–.”

Plan B samples Jodeci’s 1995 hit Freek’n You (Mr. Dalvin’s Freek Mix) featuring Raekwon and Ghostface Killah of Wu-Tang Clan and debuted inside the Top 30 on the Hot 100. The song also debuted at No. 7 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart dated 7 May. Plan B’s success means that Megan has scored a Top 10 on the latter chart each year since 2019.

In its first week of tracking (ending 28 April), Plan B registered 12 million official US streams, according to Luminate, resulting in a No 4 entry on the R&B/Hip-Hop Streaming Songs chart. Likewise, the song hit No 4 on R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Song Sales, with 4,000 downloads in that same period.

Recently Megan confirmed that her new album – the official follow-up to her 2020 debut, Good News – is nearing completion, revealing that she’s now “95 per cent done” with the record.

The announcement came during Megan’s appearance at the 2022 Webby Awards on Monday 16 May, where she was honoured with the gong for Artist Of The Year. “I’m actually probably like 95 per cent done with my new album,” the rapper said backstage. “I wanna tease that for the Hotties. I haven’t even told them nothing about my album.”
