Lizzo was also the musical guest on Saturday Night Live last week as actor Austin Butler was the host. She performed Break Up Twice from her 2022 album, Special, and her rendition of Stevie Wonder’s Someday at Christmas. Lizzo’s stage set and costume during her performance of Break Up Twice paid homage to Annie Lee’s painting Blue Monday. The singer also appeared in a Please Don’t Destroy sketch about plastic shirts, starring as Martin Herlihy’s girlfriend.

It marked the third time Lizzo has performed on SNL. She first guested in 2019 in an Eddie Murphy–hosted episode; she returned earlier this year to debut the title track for Special.
