Frontman Yannis Philippakis revealed: “We’ve got a song that is unfinished that we call ‘Tranquillity’, it’s not going to be called that in the future but we were all listening to it and vibing with it the other day.

“It was something we were writing and recording around the time of Life Is Yours and it didn’t quite fit but it’s really exciting and is kind of the coolest thing we’ve ever written so we might try to finish that at some point.”

The band went on to talk about their upcoming Reading and Leeds festival headline slot. “We’re getting chased for the setlist which feels a bit early since it’s a few weeks away,” said Philippakis. Drummer Jack Bevan added: “We’ll be bringing a big production and there will be a few sprinkles on top and Walter [Gervers, bassist] has some big secret stuff planned, he hasn’t even told us yet so we are looking forward to that.”

Gervers rejoined the band in early June. He was a founding member of the Oxford outfit back in 2005 and played on 2008’s Antidotes, 2010’s Total Life Forever, 2013’s Holy Fire and 2015’s What Went Down before departing after finishing the touring cycle for the latter. His amicable parting of ways with the band was announced in January 2018, and the group went on to make both parts of 2019’s Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost without him, as well as last year’s Life Is Yours.

Philippakis wrote in a post on his socials, “After 6 years in the alpine wilderness guess who’s back in the band?!! Walter is back & better than ever. Rejoining for all the coming shows & into the future. Get ready, the boys are back in business.”
