Dua Lipa and Megan Thee Stallion have announced their first-ever collaboration, though as yet little is known about the single, except that it’s due to drop this week.

Taking to Twitter, rapper Megan shared a cake-themed promotional image featuring the two, revealing that the song will actually drop this Friday, 11 March.

It will be both Dua and Megan’s first original release of 2022, as well as the first single since Lipa left her long-time management, TaP Music, earlier this month.

The collaboration comes ahead of Megan opening for Dua on her ‘Future Nostalgia’ tour dates in Denver, Tulsa and Phoenix next week, where they will no doubt give the live debut of the tune.

Megan has already teamed up with the likes of Beyonce, Cardi B and BTS on hits, but she recently revealed she is hoping to get Adele on a song.

The two musicians have had their music mixed together in a viral TikTok trend, and the 27-year-old star put it out into the world that she wants to get Adele, 33, on one of her songs.

She said: “If Adele wants me to come get on the track, be the dancer, I’m there, I’m here for it. “Somebody tell her to call me because I’m ready!”

Last year Dua Lipa gained her third UK Number 1 single, Cold Heart (Pnau Remix) with Elton John. She’s also begun work on her third studio album – the follow-up to the UK Number 1 record Future Nostalgia.

But the singer has already warned fans not to expect a return to the throwback, post-disco influenced sound of the album. In fact, she’s already hinted the new LP is “probably not what my fans want to hear.”

As for Megan, this new single could be a taster of her follow-up to debut record Good News, which was released in 2020 following the break-out success of Number 1 single WAP with Cardi B.
