Having collaborated with many chart-topping artists throughout the decades, Elton John made headlines around the globe in 2021. He returned to the recorded music charts when he teamed up with Dua Lipa on their recent smash hit Cold Heart (PNAU REMIX), which hit No 7 on Billboard’s Hot 100, No 1 on its Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart and No 1 on the UK singles chart upon its release. The song has been streamed over 1 billion times on Spotify worldwide and most recently won Top Dance/Electronic Song at the 2022 Billboard Music Awards. Cold Heart (PNAU REMIX), is a combination of Elton John’s most iconic tracks, including Sacrifice and Rocket Man.

Not content with performing with Elton, Dua also posted a photograph with Joni Mitchell to her Instagram with a caption simply reading, “JONI MITCHELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ❤️!!!!!!!!!!”

Elton and Dua Lipa’s performance was part of an evening billed as Elton’s final US show. To mark the occasion, he also brought out Brandi Carlile, who he duetted with on Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me.

“Tonight is a very special night, we are creating history tonight,” John said, in his first remarks at the start of the show “And I’m so glad to see you at Dodger Stadium.” This is a very special, very emotional night for me. It’s been a long journey,” John continued, nodding to an earlier L.A. performance that predated his Dodger Stadium debut. “I first came here to America in 1970 to the City of Angels and played the Troubadour, which thankfully is still there.”
