Following a sold-out UK tour last year, including a packed show at the 2000-capacity 02 Shepherd’s Bush Empire, Grammy-winning guitarist, vocalist and songwriter Christone “Kingfish” Ingram returns next month for headline appearances at Suffolk’s Red Rooster Festival on Saturday, 3 June and a London date at The Garage on Tuesday 6 June.

Since he burst onto the scene in 2019, 24-year-old Kingfish has quickly become one of the defining blues voices of his generation with artists such as Buddy Guy, Jools Holland and Keb Mo’ all championing his name. From his hometown of Clarksdale, Mississippi to prestigious venues and festivals around the world, Kingfish has toured extensively, performing alongside the likes of Vampire Weekend, Jason Isbell and Buddy Guy, in addition to supporting The Rolling Stones in Hyde Park in 2022.

In May 2019, Ingram’s debut album Kingfish debuted atop the Billboard Blues Chart and remained on the chart for an astonishing 91 weeks. In July 2021, he released his second album 662 (named after the telephone area code where he was raised) which also premiered in the top slot on Billboard Blues Charts and would go on to win MOJO’s Best Blues Album Of The Year.

662 is a direct reflection of my growth as a musician, a songwriter, a bandleader, and as a young man” explains Kingfish. “This album was written during the pandemic, shortly after I returned home from a whirlwind year and a half of touring and promoting Kingfish. It was an incredible time of change and growth, moments both good and bad, and I am a better and stronger person for it.”

With both Kingfish and 662, Ingram creates contemporary blues music that speaks to his generation and beyond, delivering the full healing power of the blues.

Last September, Fender released the Kingfish Telecaster Deluxe; a new Telecaster model specially dedicated to the rising star bluesman. This signature guitar has become his top axe as he has performed at both high-profile festivals and sell-out ticketed shows throughout the US, Europe, India and Australia.
