Burna Boy was the musical guest on last night’s episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. The Afro-fusion star performed his Toni Braxton–sampling Love, Damini track Last Last.

He also sat down for a conversation with Jimmy Fallon, where he talked about working with Ed Sheeran and the origin of the name Burna Boy. He also teased Fallon for his pronunciation of Last Last and attempted to teach the host a dance move.

Burna Boy saluted the “amazing” Ed Sheeran, revealing that the British singer songwriter is “One of my favourite people in general in the world, you know?”

Last Last is from Love, Damini, the rapper’s sixth studio album, which was released in July via Atlantic Records. It features appearances from Sheeran, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Khalid, J Balvin, and more.

He has also bagged a nomination in the 17th BET Hip-Hop Awards scheduled to take place on Friday 30 September 2022 in Atlanta, United States. The nomination list, released on Monday, honoured the past year in hip hop music across 17 categories and was compiled by a voting academy of esteemed music industry insiders. Burna Boy got a nomination in the Video Director of the Year category for his self-directed music video, Last Last.

Earlier this year, Burna Boy told Billboard that his album’s title reflects how personal it is. “That’s how I like to sign all my letters, because I didn’t know the proper [signoff],” he said. “It’s a bit personal [because] it’s bringing you into my head on my birthday — when you turn 31 and ain’t got no kids, everything is going good and bad at the same time. You reflect and then you get as lit as possible. Then you sleep and wake up and reflect again. I’m reflecting on everything — what I’m doing and what’s happening where I’m from. Where I’m from is a part of where I’m going.”
