As if stepping out of The Human League’s smash hit Don’t You Want Me, Dua Lipa was working as a waitress in a cocktail bar when she had a date with fate – in this case meeting her management team, who secured her a record deal aged just 19.

The similarities don’t end there, either: five years later, the charismatic English-Albanian singer-songwriter found that she, too, had the world at her feet. On the back of her massive Calvin Harris collaboration, One Kiss – which spent eight weeks at the top of the UK chart – Dua Lipa’s self-titled debut album went triple platinum, announcing its creator as a major new player in pop music.

Since then, she’s taken every opportunity to push herself further. Featuring top-notch material from collaborators such as Julia Michaels and Madonna producer Stuart Price, Lipa’s second album, 2020’s Future Nostalgia, came stuffed with smartly-attired retro-pop smashes such as Don’t Start Now, Physical and Break My Heart, and it ticked all the boxes, attracting critical raves and scoring multi-platinum sales in both the UK and Canada. Collecting BRITs, Grammys and more besides, Dua Lipa is a truly international star for whom the sky really is the limit.
